It is done - Kurt Vonnegut

Web Culture, Written Word Add comments

Kurt Vonnegut dies at 84.

Closing lines from his poem ‘Requiem’:

When the last living thing

has died on account of us,

how poetical it would be

if Earth could say,

in a voice floating up

perhaps

from the floor

of the Grand Canyon,

“It is done.”

People did not like it here.

  1. Arthur "Two Sheds" Jackson Says:

    Nice.
His death makes me feel guilty that I’ve never bothered to read anything by him. I did try Slaughterhouse 5 once, but I think I had better books around and so didn’t get very far.
